Miami missed the mark and missed it big time when they built the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. The opportunity to create a truly world renowned architectural statement was somehow lost in translation. Think of the statement that the Sydney Opera House, an iconic architectural masterpiece in Sydney, Australia, makes. We could have had that in Miami but, with the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, not so much.
Well, the second time around it appears that Royal Caribbean is making up for the loss opportunity. The new home port terminal for Symphony Of The Seas and Allure of the Seas is going to make up for what the Adrienne Arsht Center never achieved, a truly world renowned architectural work.
The topping of ceremony was held this week with a completion date in October 2018. Suffolk Construction Vice President Joe Fernandez states that “once completed, it will be an iconic building.”
The terminal will be the new home port to Symphony of the Seas as well as Allure of the Seas.
